HRA Calculation Ke 3 Rules
Income tax department HRA exemption ke liye 3 chizein dekhta hai, aur inme se jo sabse kam (lowest) hota hai, utna hi HRA tax-free hota hai:
- Actual HRA received (Jo employer se mila).
- Metro city (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata) ke liye 50% of Basic Salary + DA, Non-metro ke liye 40%.
- Actual rent paid minus 10% of Basic Salary + DA.
Hamara calculator in teeno ko automatically calculate karta hai aur sabse minimum value aapko nikal kar de deta hai.
Real Life Example: Priya Ki Tax Saving
Priya Bangalore (Non-metro for HRA) mein rent par rahti hai. Uski Basic Salary ₹60,000 per month hai. Use HRA ₹20,000 per month milta hai. Uska actual rent ₹15,000 per month hai. Aaiye dekhte hain calculator ne uski madad kaise ki. 1. Actual HRA = ₹20,000 2. 40% of Basic = ₹24,000 3. Rent paid - 10% of basic = (15,000 - 6,000) = ₹9,000. Sabse kam amount ₹9,000 hai. Toh Priya har mahine ₹9,000, yaani saal ka ₹1,08,000 HRA exemption claim kar sakti hai! Priya ne hamara calculator use kiya aur 2 second me apna result dekh liya.
HRA Claim Karne Ke Important Documents
Agar aapka saal ka rent ₹1 lakh (yani ₹8,333 per month) se zyada hai, toh aapko landlord ka PAN card apne employer ko dena padega. Agar landlord ke paas PAN nahi hai, toh ek declaration form fill karwana hoga. Iske alawa, proper rent agreement aur monthly rent receipts aapke paas honi chahiye, chahe payment cash me ho ya online transfer.
Practical Tips HRA Exemption Ke Liye
- Parents ko rent pay karna: Aap apne parents ko rent pay karke HRA claim kar sakte hain, bas rent unki income me jud jayega. Par spouse (pati/patni) ko rent nahi de sakte.
- Rent agreement zaroori hai: Hamesha valid rent agreement banwayein, chahe aap apne rishtedaar ke ghar mein kyun na rah rahe hon.
- Digital transactions: Rent hamesha bank transfer, UPI ya cheque se pay karein. Cash me pay karne par proof dena mushkil ho jata hai.
